I just love blue lace agate. Such a soothing stone and the natural flow of its layers always makes for a favored piece of jewelry. Excellent focal stone for any jewelry artisan to use in a piece they are creating. Great for wire wrap or wire weave artists as well as metalsmiths.
Blue lace agate is a type of variegated chalcedony, more specifically a variety of quartz. Blue lace agate was discovered in Namibia, originally South West Africa. Small amounts have also been found in Brazil, China, India and various places in the United States. Agates, in general, are found alongside multiple other rocks and minerals, including amethyst.
